Alas ! Aduana Stars have found a reason to share the spoils with an opposing side after opting to be self-contained, striking a perfect balance with 14 wins and 14 draws prior to their 0-0 stalemate against Accra Lions on Monday.

Although Aduana’s last league victory did come against a ‘Lion’ side – Hearts of Lions, for that matter, the Dormaa-based club were unable to keep the run of either keeping it tight at the back or being ruthless in front of goal going, as they drew with Accra Lions.

With 5 games to end the 2023/24 league season, Accra Lions and Aduana remain amongst the sides who, perhaps, have an outside chance of being considered in the title race, which has largely involved Sarmatex and Nations Fc.

Both teams will take the result with a whimper as Accra Lions, who now have 44 points, and Aduana, who now have 43 points, would have leapfrogged Nations Fc into second position with a win, piling the pressure on title-chasing Sarmatex in the process.

However, the game did not go as planned, with both sides sticking to their defensive tactics, failing to play expansively and running out with a point apiece, which was much deserved on the balance of play.

A result which both sides will hope does not come back to haunt them on the final day of the season.
