Ghanaian students in Morocco have expressed their concerns over a 10-month delay in receiving their stipends.

In a press release from the Ghanaian Students Association in Morocco (GHASAM), they highlighted the significant hardships caused by this delay.

They urged the government, the Ministry of Finance, and the Secretariat to expedite the process to avert any further dire situation.

The students stated that the prolonged delay has resulted in difficulties, emotional distress, risks, and academic challenges for undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students.

The statement warned of consequences if the issue is not resolved promptly: students may risk repeating or retaking years, those who are ill or have chronic conditions cannot access healthcare, and final-year students who have used their necessary documents to acquire loans will be stranded in Morocco.
