Ahead of tomorrow’s Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) opening ceremony and fixtures, CAF President Dr. Patrick Motsepe has arrived in the city of Rabat, Morocco in anticipation of the games.
Morocco, who are defending champions of the tournament, feature in Group A alongside Angola, Ghana and Zambia, whiles Egypt, Libya, Mauritania and Namibia lie in Group B.
However, the closure of tomorrow’s opening ceremony will see Ghana and Zambia lock horns in the first game of the tournament at the Prince Moulay Abdellah hall, before Morocco take on Angola in the other group A game.
Dr. Patrick Motsepe, who was elected as President of CAF on March 12, 2021, has already spearheaded a successful AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast in January, turning his focus to the indoor Futsal competition which begins from tomorrow till April 21, 2024.
All eight participating teams at the competition have also arrived, with host nation Morocco leading the pack, alongside Ghana, Zambia, Angola, Egypt, Namibia, Libya and Mauritania.

Nations who finish with a guaranteed podium slot automatically advance to the Futsal World Championship, which will take place in Uzbekistan in September.
