Tensions flared at the Okaikwei North Constituency collation centre as reports emerged of the Ghana Police allegedly using tear gas to disperse a crowd.

The situation has caused panic among those present, with some claiming that even an Electoral Commission (EC) official was caught up in the commotion.

Correspondent at the scene described the atmosphere as chaotic, with people running for safety as the tear gas spread. It is unclear what triggered the use of the tear gas, but the incident has raised concerns about the safety and security of the collation process.
