Former Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged students to develop a clear vision and strong personal determination, stressing that academic qualifications alone do not guarantee success.
Speaking at the Creative Mind in a Digital Age: Students’ Professional Identity event, Agyapong emphasized that what drives achievement is not one’s course of study but one’s mindset and ambition.
”Every student here, whether you’re an economics student, sociology, political science—you should have a vision. So ask yourself, what is your vision? Is your vision looking for a job after school, or a vision of building a business after school? You only have to acquire knowledge here. It doesn’t matter what you read on campus. It is you—the individual—and your determination.”
Agyapong encouraged students to reflect deeply on their future plans and not rely solely on formal education. He said true progress requires intentional goal-setting and strategic planning.
He also introduced the “GOSPA” model—an acronym for Goals, Objectives, Strategies, Planning, and Activities—as a personal development framework to help students stay focused.
His address served as both inspiration and challenge—urging students to take ownership of their future by combining knowledge with vision and discipline.
