The American Chamber of Commerce in Ghana (AmCham Ghana) has announced the appointment of Doris Afanyedey as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective August 15, 2025.

The 2009 Chartered Institute of Marketing Practitioner of the Year and a former member of the AmCham Board, Doris Afanyedey previously served as Managing Director of the Ghana subsidiaries of two Fortune 500 companies, Cummins and SC Johnson.

A seasoned business leader, she is widely recognised for delivering substantial revenue growth, driving operational excellence, and spearheading strategic transformation in highly competitive markets.

According to Kimathi Kuenyehia, Chairman of the Board, her return as CEO is both a homecoming and a strategic leap forward.

“Doris is not new to AmCham. She has walked this journey with us as a Board member and contributor to our mission. Her return as CEO is both a homecoming and a strategic leap forward. The Board is confident in her ability to lead with insight, integrity, and a deep understanding of who we are and where we must go — bigger, better, stronger, and more impactful.”

Addressing the Board, Doris Afanyedey outlined her vision of driving value and growth:

“Our members are at the heart of everything we do. My goal is to ensure AmCham delivers tangible value — as your advocate, connector, and partner for sustainable business growth.”

She succeeds Simon Madjie, who was recently appointed by the President of Ghana as Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre.
