The CEO of De Bryan Cyber Care, Bryan Gibson, has urged students to be mindful of what they post online, stressing that the internet never forgets.
Speaking on Campus Exclusive on September 30, 2025, Gibson advised students and the general public to avoid oversharing personal information online, warning that such actions could expose them to manipulation and other risks.
“Don’t overshare things because they can open doors for manipulation,” he cautioned.
He emphasized the importance of protecting one’s digital footprint and understanding that every post can have lasting consequences.
“Posting on the internet is like writing on wet cement. Even if you try to erase it, the traces always remain,” he explained.
Gibson also spoke about how society may stigmatize individuals based on viral posts.
“Society may label or tag them in ways that make it difficult for them to live comfortably among others,” he noted.
He concluded by urging students to prioritize cybersecurity, emphasizing that it is essential for their personal protection.
