The Minister of State for Climate Change and Sustainability, Seidu Issifu, has assured Eco-Africa Network of his support in advancing climate action and sustainability efforts.
On March 12, 2025, a delegation from Eco-Africa Network visited the minister to congratulate him on his appointment as Ghana’s first-ever Minister for Climate Change and Sustainability. They also took the opportunity to present their initiatives aimed at addressing environmental challenges and promoting climate sensitization.
During the meeting, Eco-Africa’s Executive Director, Worship Joshua Frimpong, highlighted several key projects. These included the Eco-Africa App, designed to enhance climate literacy by translating climate discussions into local dialects, as well as a Climate Innovation Hub, a Climate Podcast, and Green Clubs in senior high schools and universities to promote climate education.
Mr. Issifu expressed his admiration for the organization’s efforts, particularly commending the Eco-Africa App. He encouraged the team to incorporate a feedback system to enhance user engagement, ensure continuous improvement, and secure long-term sustainability.
“I am truly impressed by the Eco-Africa App. I hope it includes a system for gathering user feedback to refine its content, improve engagement, and ensure financial sustainability. By making climate education accessible and culturally relevant, it can effectively address behaviors that contribute to climate change.”
He also praised the Eco-Africa’s Green Club initiative, noting that it aid in bridging gaps in climate education, particularly at the basic and secondary school levels. He emphasized that climate change is largely influenced by misinformation and human behavior, making early education a crucial tool for change.
“The Green Clubs will help fill critical gaps in climate education at the foundational level. Misguided behaviors and knowledge gaps are key drivers of climate change, and educating young people is essential in tackling this issue.”
Eco-Africa Network remains dedicated to promoting climate action, sustainability awareness, and clean energy advocacy, empowering young people and communities in the fight against climate change.
