A car parked at the University of Ghana Hospital caught fire on the hospital premises on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
According to the car owner, he had just started the vehicle after leaving the hospital with his wife when he noticed unusual behavior from the engine. Moments later, he observed a trail of petrol leaking, which quickly ignited into flames. He added that the car had just been serviced the previous day, September 29, 2025.
“I just serviced it yesterday,” he said, still in shock over the incident.
Security personnel at the hospital attempted to control the blaze with fire extinguishers but were unable to put it out before the Ghana National Fire Service arrived and fully doused the flames.
Fire service officials confirmed that no casualties were recorded. The area has since been cordoned off while investigations continue into the circumstances leading to the fire.
Hospital authorities also noted that the incident did not disrupt normal operations, though staff and visitors were urged to exercise caution around the affected area.
