Nsoatreman FC and Samartex FC commenced their maiden African campaign with resounding victories over TP Elect Sport of Chad and Victoria United of Cameroon, respectively.

Under the guidance of newly appointed coach Yaw Preko, Nsoatreman walloped TP Elect Sport of Chad 3-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, August 18, 2024 in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Abdul Rahman opened the scoring for Nsoatreman in the 31st minute.
Just two minutes later, former Ghana U20 winger Kwabena Adu Meider doubled their lead, with Rahman adding his second goal in the 36th minute.

Despite Elect Sport goalkeeper, Mahamat Bechir’s red card in the 54th minute for handling the ball outside the penalty area, Nsoatreman could not extend their lead further, with Stephen Diyou hitting the woodwork in the 70th minute.

The second leg will be held in N’Djamena on August 24, 2024, where Nsoatreman will look to seal their place in the next round.

For the reigning Ghana Premier League Champions, Emmanuel Mamah’s second-half goal gave FC Samartex the advantage over Victoria United at the Japoma Sports Stadium in Douala in the CAF Champions League.

The reverse fixture is scheduled to  kick off in Ghana at the Accra Sports Stadium next weekend.

The winner of the tie will face Niger’s AS GNN or Raja Casablanca of Morocco in the second round.

Raja are also a step away from the second preliminary round after securing a 2-1 away win over AS GNN.
