Dreams FC edge closer to qualifying for the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup after securing a 2-1 win of Kallon Fc at the Accra sports stadium today.

The ‘Still believe’ boys were up for the encounter from the blast of the whistle. The determination put on show in the early exchanges of the match was duly rewarded as the home side had their tails up in the 12th minute through Godfred Atuahene, who rifled the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box.

The game had little to no action from then, with both sides canceling out each other. But it would be Kallon who would cause jitters amongst the Dreams Fc fans as the Sierra Leonean side pulled level before the break.

Dreams FC had to dig deep into their arsenal’s if their hopes of making it to their first ever group stage appearance was anything to go by.

John Antwi was up for the game as he came to the rescue of Dreams Fc once more following his first round heroics. The veteran showed why he is an integral member of Evans Adortey’s side by putting dreams ahead on the 57th minute from the penalty spot.

The win gives the Ghanaian side a spring in the foot heading into the second leg encounter in Sierra Leone on October 1.

Meanwhile, Dreams FC will kick off their 2023/24 Betpawa Premier league season off when they play host to Nations FC on September 20.
