Black Stars fall to 70th in latest FIFA rankings after September international break disaster

Ghana’s Black Stars have taken a hit in the latest FIFA World Rankings, dropping to 70th globally and 14th in Africa, due to their lackluster performances during the recent September international break.

The team’s 1-0 loss to Angola at Baba Yara Stadium and 1-1 draw against Niger in Berkane really hurt their standing . This slump has allowed several countries, including Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, Cape Verde, and Burkina Faso, to leapfrog Ghana in the rankings.

On the Africans continent,Morocco currently holds the top spot , followed closely by Senegal, Egypt, Côte d’Ivoire, and Tunisia.

The Black Stars have taken a hit in the continental rankings, dropping two spots to 14th place, with Burkina Faso and Cape Verde leapfrogging them.

Ghana’s latest FIFA rankings have added fuel to the fire of debate surrounding the country’s football scene, emphasizing the dire need for a turnaround in the national team’s performance. The recent ban on Ghana’s stadiums by CAF has only exacerbated the situation, shining a spotlight on the pressing issues plaguing Ghanaian football.
