Rangers back from the blue, as a 5-star performance secures first win of the season at La Boma Beach on Monday.

Matchday 2 of the 2024/2025 Beach Soccer Premier League came with its own narratives, as Okre Rangers squared off against an experienced-packed side, Sea Sharks.

Both teams approached the game on the back of defeats, having both lost their season openers.

The first half started well for Sea Sharks, who went on to draw first blood in the first minute through Robert Eduwordzi, who expertly tucked home from a brilliant cross to put the visitors ahead.

Okre Rangers (having gone down) kept pressing, but all their efforts proved futile, until the 11th minute of the first half when Akonii Johnson connected excellently from a cross to pull level.

In the 13th minute of the second half, however, Johnson Akonii, who pulled parity for the hosts, once again came to the party to give Okre Rangers a deserved lead after numerous attempts at goal.

Matters became worse for the visitors a minute later, as Johnson Akonii scored another goal to complete a hat trick on the day, and wrap up events in second half.

The third half was comprehensively characterised with determination, resilience and showboating, as both teams treated spectators with an evening of excitement and anemoia.

The excitement lingered until the 32nd minute when Shadrack Gotha extended the lead for Okre Rangers.

Sea Sharks tried tirelessly to reduce the deficit but all attempts were fruitless, until the dying embers of the game when Daniel Ayerh reduced the deficit for the visitors from an unimaginable angle.

The game in its entirety produced a lot of excitement and fond memories for supporters of both teams.
