Asante Kotoko has announced that right-back Emmanuel Kotei’s season has come to a painful end following an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
The incident occurred during a training session on Thursday, leading to a series of medical evaluations.
After thorough assessments by the club’s Medical Team, Kotei was diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, along with damage to both menisci in his right leg. The player is set to undergo surgery in the coming days to address this serious injury.
Kotei has made a total of 4 appearances for the team this season, starting in 2 matches and averaging 51 minutes of play per game. His absence will be significantly felt as the team continues its campaign.
Emmanuel Kotei joined Asante Kotoko from Nsoatreman in January last year and has since become an integral part of the squad. The club and its supporters wish him a successful surgery and a smooth recovery process. Fans will be eagerly awaiting his return to the pitch.
