The Movement for Change (M4C), led by independent candidate Alan Kyerematen has added his voice to the growing calls for a thorough audit of Ghana’s voters’ register ahead of the 2024 general elections.
In a letter signed by the Director of Elections, Planning and Coordination for M4C, Nana Ohene Ntow, on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024, the party urged the Electoral Commission (EC) to establish a technical working group.
This group is to oversee the audit, ensuring transparency and accuracy in the process.
The letter stressed that, a credible election depends on a clean voters’ register, and the working group should include experts who can identify and rectify any discrepancies.
Movement for Change also highlighted that an updated and trustworthy register is essential for avoiding post-election conflicts and ensuring that, the results reflect the will of the people.
