A collision on the busy Accra- Aflao highway has claimed the lives of 8 commuters today , August 18.
According to reliable sources, the accident occurred after a commercial bus driver identified as Michael Agborglah attempted to overtake oncoming vehicles.
The bus with registration number , GE 5395- 23 was conveying 15 passengers from the capital city to Aflao in the Volta Region.
The driver was alleged to have attempted overtaking a loaded cargo truck ahead of him but rather collided with another cargo truck in the opposite lane heading to Tema from Aflao.
The passengers who survived the accident with injuries were subsequently sent to the Dawhenya and Tema General hospitals for urgent medical attention.
The dead bodies were conveyed to the Tema General Hospital for preservation.
The errant driver , Michael Agborglah was arrested , cautioned and released to his sibling to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
