Spokesperson for the Ministry of Health, Tony Goodman, has cautioned doctors and dentists seeking employment under the 36th batch recruitment exercise against paying money to individuals to facilitate their recruitment, insisting that the process is open and transparent.

This follows the Ministry’s announcement on Monday, 26 October 2026, that applications would open for the recruitment of trained doctors and dentists.

Speaking on The Public Sphere on Radio Univers, Mr. Goodman urged eligible applicants to apply directly through the recruitment portal without involving intermediaries.

“We have asked these officers not to pay any money to anybody. Just go on the portal. Various vacancies have been displayed. Choose where you want to work, and that’s all,” he said.

Mr. Goodman announced that the portal would open on Tuesday, 28 October 2026, for medical officers and dentists who had completed their housemanship and received clearance from the Medical and Dental Council and would close on Thursday, 29 October 2026.

He said the Ministry had received an open-ended clearance for the 36th batch, allowing all eligible applicants whose names had been submitted by the Council to participate in the recruitment exercise.

“With the doctors we’ve been given an open-ended clearance for this particular batch and anybody who was submitted from the council would be able to go through,” he said.

He explained that the Medical and Dental Council had informed the eligible applicants that their names had been submitted to the Ministry ahead of the recruitment exercise.

“The Council called them to inform them that their names have been submitted to the Ministry of Health and that in no time portal would be opened, so they know,” he said.
