The Greater Accra Regional Youth Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has suspended the president of the University of Ghana’s TEIN chapter, Einstein Adum Ngusra.
The suspension, announced in a statement dated 25 September 2026 and signed by Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser Amorse Amos Blessing, follows what the Regional Youth Wing described as “gross insubordination and mishandling of funds.”
According to the statement, Ngusra has also been referred to the Regional Disciplinary Committee for further action and has been directed to hand over all TEIN-UG chapter property in his possession, including a detailed financial account of his tenure, to the Regional TEIN Coordinator by Sunday, 27 September 2026.
During his suspension, the affairs of TEIN-UG would be managed by the Regional TEIN Coordinator Mohammed Abubakar, together with the remaining executives, pending the election of new executives.
Speaking to Univers News, Greater Accra Regional Youth Organiser Blessing confirmed the suspension.
“There have been issues surrounding the presidency of Einstein. So at our meeting yesterday, we took a decision to suspend him and refer his conduct to the regional disciplinary committee,” he said.
He added that Ngusra had been served a copy of the statement and had acknowledged receipt. The Regional Youth Wing has also cautioned members, stakeholders and the public against dealing with Ngusra in his capacity as UG TEIN president during the period of his suspension.
In response, suspended TEIN-UG President Einstein Adum Ngusra has denied knowingly or intentionally mishandling funds during his administration and questioned the basis for his suspension.
In a communiqué released on Saturday, 26 September 2026, he stated that he had not been served with a letter outlining specific allegations of financial misconduct before receiving the suspension letter.
He also said he had not been provided with particulars, supporting documents or financial findings on which the allegation was based, and had formally requested clarification from the Greater Accra Regional Youth Wing.
