The outgoing leadership of Radio Univers has officially handed over the station to a new team, urging them to build on its legacy of excellence.

Speaking at the 2026 Leavers’ Dinner, Awards & Handover Ceremony held at the Great Hall on 19th September 2026, former Editor-in-Chief Esther Esenam Ofori reflected on the station’s impact on those who have passed through it, describing Radio Univers as not only a media outlet but also a training ground for growth.

“Radio Univers gave many of us a voice, it gave us a platform to learn, it gave us opportunities to make mistakes in a space where we could grow from them,” she shared.

She further charged the incoming team to uphold the standards of the station and continue its tradition of excellence.

“Incoming leadership, the microphone is now yours. Lead well, serve well, and make Radio Univers proud.”

In response to the charge, the incoming Editor-in-Chief, Klenam Joachim, took to the podium to deliver her acceptance speech, describing the moment as one she did not take lightly.

“Radio Univers has been much more than a place where I came to work or volunteer. It has been a place where I have grown — as a journalist, as a broadcaster, as a leader, and most importantly, as a person.”

She closed her address by pledging to leave the station stronger than she found it, echoing the sentiment of continuity that defined the handover.

“When my time comes to hand over this baton, I hope I can do so with the satisfaction that I gave it everything I had, and that I left Radio Univers a little better than I found it.”
