Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Professor Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, has called on alumni and graduating students to register on the newly launched UG Alumni Network App to strengthen their connection with the university.
Speaking as the guess speaker at the launch of the platform which took place at the West African Genetic Centre at the university of Ghana on Thursday, May 28, 2026, Professor Amfo encouraged graduates to update their profiles, reconnect with former classmates and actively contribute to the university community.
“And now the University of Ghana is asking you to register on the UGA Network app, update your profile, reconnect with your classmates and your year group members,” she said.
She further urged alumni to support students through mentorship and by sharing their experiences and professional journeys.
“Offer to mentor a student. Share your story, support this initiative,” she added.
Professor Amfo also directed a message to final-year students, encouraging them to begin their alumni journey before leaving campus.
“To the final year students and graduating cohorts, your alumni journey begins today. Remember to register on the UGA Network app before you leave this campus,” she said.
She noted that the platform would provide graduates with access to networks and opportunities that could support their careers long after completing their studies.
