The Ghana Education Service (GES) has interdicted a male teacher at Okadjakrom Senior High Technical School in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region, Mr. Mfo Richard Tibetor, over alleged sexual misconduct captured in a viral video involving a female student of the school.
A press release issued on October 2, 2025, by the Head of the Public Relations Unit of GES, Daniel Fenyi, stated that the teacher’s conduct in the video constitutes a breach of the Code of Conduct for teachers.
According to the statement, Mr. Tibetor has been barred from performing his duties and is prohibited from visiting the school premises while investigations continue.
“Mr. Tibetor has already been interdicted and prohibited from entering the school premises pending further investigations into the matter,” the statement read.
The GES assured parents and the public that the safety and protection of students remain its topmost priority. It further cautioned teachers across the country not to compromise the dignity and wellbeing of students, stressing that any member of the profession found guilty of such acts will face the full rigours of the law in line with its Code of Conduct.
“The GES assures parents, guardians, and the general public that the safety and protection of all students remain our topmost priority. Any teacher found culpable of acts that compromise the dignity and wellbeing of students will face the full rigours of the law in accordance with the GES Code of Conduct,” it added.
The interdiction of Mr. Tibetor follows a similar action recently taken against the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) of KNUST Senior High School, who was also removed from post for misconduct.
