President of Phobia Tertiary and Public Relations Officer of Chapter 51, Reginald Kumah Johnson — popularly known in Hearts of Oak circles as “Kay” has firmly denied reports suggesting that Phobia Tertiary is no longer operational.

According to him, the group is very much active but faces significant challenges due to inadequate financial support, unlike their rivals, Porcupine Tertiary, who have been more vibrant and consistent.

Speaking on Sports Night, Johnson assured fans that the spirit of Phobia Tertiary remains strong, and with the right backing, they are ready to bounce back and continue rallying support for Accra Hearts of Oak.

“We remain one of the musical chapters of the club, and we remain loyal. We will continue to be vociferous, and in time, we’ll be a force to be reckoned with,” he said.

He attributed the group’s relative inactivity to financial difficulties.

“The reason why Phobia Tertiary has not reached the level of Porcupine Tertiary is because of finance. In every organisation, finance is key. You ask how we fund ourselves, how we mobilise — when the Porcupines step up, they are being supported,” he explained.

“There is a clear financial structure backing them. Can the same be said for Phobia Tertiary? One key thing missing from our end as a support base is funding, which the Porcupines have.”

Ghana’s two most successful football clubs, Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak, are set to rekindle their age-old rivalry in the 2025 edition of the President’s Cup on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.
