President John Dramani Mahama has revealed that the Vice President, Jane Naana Agyemang has recovered fully from the illness that plagued her some weeks ago and she will be back soon to resume her official duties in the coming days.

The revelation comes on the back of the Thank Your tour being embarked by John Mahama in the Greater Accra Region today, May 16 to pay respects to the people of the region for believing in his vision and voting massively for the NDC in the December 7 polls.

Speaking at a gathering of Chiefs and people of the region, President Mahama intimated that Professor Jane Naana is gaining full fitness from her medical break and is raring to go get back to her official duties to help the government.

“I am happy to announce that I spoke to the Vice President, Jane Naana Opoku- Agyemang from her base and the feedback I got is that she will be back in Ghana by the end of next week hopefully to resume her official duties,” he said.

Prof. Jane Naana Opoku- Agyemang was reported to have fallen ill on Friday, March 28 after work and sought medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre.

On the advice of her doctors subsequently, she began a three week sick leave from April 7 outside Ghana for additional medical care as part of her recovery process.

The anticipated arrival of the Vice President will add the needed impetus to the commitment of the government as it gradually rolls out the plans and programmes promised to Ghanaians which led to their impressive win over the NPP in the December 7 polls held last year.
