The Speaker of the University of Ghana’s Students’ Repersentative Council General Assembly(UGSRC GA), Kelvin Yeboah, has pushed back against criticisms labeling him as a weak leader, insisting that his administration has made significant strides in maintaining order.

Speaking Campus Exclusive on Februaury 13 ,2025, the speaker rejected claims that the current GA is plagued by chaos.

He pointed out that, unlike previous administrations, there have been no viral videos of disorderly sittings, attributing this to his leadership’s focus on discipline and decorum.

“In the past, videos of chaotic Assembly sittings were all over the media. Under my leadership, there has been none. That should be enough to prove that I am not a weak Speaker.”

His response follows criticism from the Senate Speaker of Elizabeth Frances Sey Hall, Ismail Ali Sharif who rated Kelvin’s leadership a 4 out of 10. Sharif cited the absence of a Marshal to enforce order and a lack of decisive action on key issues as major shortcomings.

Despite the criticism, the speaker remains firm, emphasizing his administration’s dedication to ensuring that GA remains a structured and effective decision-making body.
