Ahead of the festive season, the University of Ghana will take a break from academic work to allow the university community to enjoy the Christmas holidays with their families and loved ones.

This break will begin on December 21, 2024 and end on January 7, 2025.

To wrap up the academic work of the first half of the semester, students have been vigorously preparing for and taking interim assessments, with this week being their final week in school before the break.

Speaking to Univers News, some students shared their evaluation of the first half of the semester.

While the majority were excited about the break, others expressed concerns that their fun would be incomplete since they still had to study for outstanding interim assessments scheduled for after the break. While most expressed excitement and enthusiasm about the upcoming break, others were concerned about outstanding IAs that had to be conducted after the break.

“We’ve been in school for 6 weeks and the semester has been hectic. I’ll cover all my IAs before the break and I’m very excited to go home. We are hoping that by the time we come back from the break, we’ll be more determined, and we’ll take our GPA to the next level.”

“I’m happy because I’m going home to reduce some stress. The semester has been stressful, and I must go home, rest and come back next year refreshed to finish the academic year.”

“It’s been cool, but I think we should have done all the IAs before going home. We are going home to have fun and it’s going to be difficult for us to have fun and learn at the same time.”
