Dec 7 Polls: Akpaloo pledges GH¢500 monthly child benefit; GH¢700 support for families, unemployed

Leader and flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Kofi Akpaloo, has said when he’s given the mandate to be the president at the polls in December, he’ll establish a programme that will enable every Ghanaian child to receive an amount of GH₵500 while unemployed youth with get GH₵700 as a benefit.

According to him, the money will be paid from the coffers of the central government.

“All the children in Ghana below 18 years would be paid by the government of Ghana an amount of GH₵500 as child benefit.

Those who are above 18 years old and unemployed will be paid GH₵700 as an unemployment benefit” he promised.

He also added that a 10 billion dollar fund will be established to support young entrepreneurs.

Mr Akpaloo mentioned this in Ho on Saturday, September 21 where he launched his 2024 manifesto and unveiled his running mate.

Mrs Elizbeth Sam was unveiled at the event held at the Ola SHS campus. On her part, the running mate said the LPG will be a listening government.

“We will listen to your concerns, we’ll learn from your experience, we’ll lead with integrity and compassion”.

She added, “I pledge to work tirelessly to ensure that our party is built on the principle of justice, equality and opportunities for all”, adding that when given the mandate “, we will not rest until every Ghanaian has access to quality healthcare, education and economic empowerment”.

Hundreds of supporters and sympathizers of the party attended the ceremony.

All parliamentary candidates on the ticket of the LPG in the Volta region and some other constituencies from across the country were present and were officially introduced by the flagbearer to the constituents.
