The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has expressed confidence in winning the December 2024 elections.
He cited credible opinion polls and widespread public support as the basis for his optimism.
Speaking in Gbintri, in the Gambaga-Nalerigu constituency of the North East Region, on Wednesday, October 2, Mahama stated that all signs point to an NDC victory, referencing recent polls from Fitch Solutions and Global Info Analytics.
“Everything indicates, and every credible institution—economic intelligence units, Fitch Solutions, Global Info Analytics—every proper, credible opinion poll shows that the NDC is going to win the election.”
He urged NDC supporters to stay vigilant and protect every vote, warning against complacency.
“But of course, we must not be complacent. We must protect every single vote, and that is why I say, in this election, all of us are going to be polling agents. We are not going to select just two polling agents to go and sit there while the rest of us go home and sleep. We will stay there until every vote is counted and the result is declared.”
“So from the 7th to the 9th of December, none of us is going to sleep. We are going to be awake until every single vote is counted, and until the Electoral Commissioner, Madam Jean Mensah, declares that the NDC has won the December 7 election.”
Mahama also stated that Ghanaians have assured him of their commitment to vote out the current government on December 7, 2024, to restore the NDC to power.
“Every region I have visited has assured us that they are going to change the government on December 7, 2024, and bring the NDC back to continue the good work we were doing when we held the reins of government.”
He further accused the NPP of publishing fake opinion polls and urged the Ghanaian public to disregard them.
“All the credible opinion polls have predicted that the NDC is going to win, and because of that, the NPP and the government have started publishing fake opinion polls—polls that have no methodology. Polls where you cannot find the people who did the research. So, ignore all those fake opinion polls.”
