GPL 24/25 MWK 3 : Kotoko held by Young Apostles, Hearts Oak secure 2-0 Win

Asante Kotoko SC were held to a pulsating 1-1 draw by Young Apostles FC in the Premier League at home on Sunday September 22, 2024.
Daniel Lomotey put the visitors ahead in the 51st minute whiles Kotoko’s midfielder Emmanuel Antwi scored to level matters in the 76th minute.

Elsewhere, Nations FC pulled the chest nut out of the blazing fire with a remarkable 2-1 win at Aduana FC at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday. Sulemana’s 26th-minute goal put the visitors in front, but Kelvin Obeng’s 75th-minute equalizer seemed to have secured a draw. However, Faisal Charwetey’s stunning strike in the 89th minute snatched a remarkable win, handing the team their first Premier League win this season.

Meanwhile, Frank Amankwah scored the decisive goal for GoldStars FC in their solitary 1-0 win over Basake Holy Stars at the Duns Park in Bibiani.

For Karela United FC, they shared points with Accra Lions at home in Nalerigu on Sunday.
Lions’ Ezekiel Alladoh scored three minutes into injury time to deny the home side maximum points at the Naa Sheriga Sports Complex after Najeeb Fuseini opened the scoring for the Pride and Passion.

Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their first win of the season via a 2-0 victory over Bechem United at the University of Ghana Stadium.
New signing Ransford Mensah and striker Hamza Issa provided the goals in a convincing performance.

Vision FC maintained their unbeaten start to the Ghana Premier League after a 1-1 draw with Legon Cities on Saturday at the Nii Adjei kraku Sports Complex in Tema.
Legon Cities broke the deadlock through Ismael Amoah, who scored a brilliant goal to give the visitors the lead.The breakthrough came in the 88th minute when super-sub Emmanuel Kyei Baffour lobbed the ball past the goalkeeper to secure a 1-1 draw for the home side.

Joseph Esso scored late in the second half to salvage a 2-2 draw for Dreams FC against Heart of Lions to conclude match week 3 of the Premier League on Monday.
Lions took the lead in the 34th minute courtesy a Yaovi Chris Guede strike before Michelle Sarpong pulled parity for the home side in the 51st minute at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex, Tema New Town.
Christian Agyenim Boateng put the visitors back in front with a sublime finish in the 60th minute before Joseph Esso popped up with the equaliser three minute to regulation time.

 

POSTPONED GAMES

Two fixtures were postponed due to continental engagements.

Defending champions FC Samartex’s match against Basake Holy Stars was rescheduled due to CAF Champions League second preliminary round clash against Raja Club Athletic on Sunday where they lost by two goals to nil.

Similarly, Nsoatreman FC’s game against Berekum also faced postponement due to their CAF Confederation Cup campaign when they were defeated by a lone goal to Constantine.
