FC Samartex head coach, Nurudeen Amadu, has voiced his disappointment with the team’s draw against Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca at the Accra Sports Stadium but nonetheless expressed pride in his players’ performance.

On Sunday, the Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, held Raja Casablanca to a 2-2 draw at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the CAF Champions League second-round qualifier.

Despite leading 2-1 at halftime, Samartex allowed the visitors to equalize in the second half, finishing the match with a 2-2 score-line.

Meanwhile, the Ghanaian team had several goal-scoring opportunities to secure a win but failed to capitalize on them.

“I’m not a happy person, but I think we didn’t disgrace ourselves. The equalizer in the second half was a gift to them because we didn’t defend well in that situation,” Amadu said after the game.

“We were wasteful in front of goal, and that cost us.”

Although the first leg ended in a draw, the former King Faisal coach, Nurudeen Amadu, is bullish about his team’s chances of causing an upset in the second leg.

We are aware that even minor mistakes can be punished at this level. Now we are going to fight because I have seen how they play,” he continued.

“I will strategise for the away game. We will aim to be resilient and fight them there.”

On the other hand, MTN FA Cup Champions, Nsoatreman FC, are on the brink of exiting the 2024–25 CAF Confederation Cup after a home defeat to Club Sportif Constantine at the Accra Sports Stadium.

They succumbed to a 2-0 home loss to CS Constantine in the first leg tie of the preliminary round of the competition on Friday afternoon.

Samartex and Nsoatreman are hoping to reach the group stage of the their various competitions like Medeama and Dreams Fc did last season.
