The director of the academic affairs directorate, Mrs. Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah has admonished students to avoid delays in registering their academic courses due to the disadvantages the delay poses to academic processes.
Her statement follows the extension of academic registration deadline by the academic affairs directorate, in response to students’ call for an extension over failed registration due to outstanding fees and delayed course registration.
In an exclusive interview on Campus Exclusive, the Director explained that such delays that call for the need of extension are disadvantageous in academic processes, citing uncomplete interim assessments and late attendance to course teaching.
“Extending deadlines presents many challenges for students and the entire academic process but considering the current challenges faced by many students, the University decided to extend course registration. However, if you have not registered until now, it means you have missed almost five weeks of teaching. Some students have already completed interim assessments (IA), so why would you want to start at a disadvantage?”
She advised students to make payments in time as much as possible. Should the students not be able to pay their fees in full by the deadline, they are advised to defer their courses to maintain their studentship.
