Abedi Pele, 1982 African Cup of Nations winner with Ghana and a three-time African player of the year, has left Ghanaians to play the guessing game after his latest post on X, formerly twitter.

In his latest X post, Abedi wrote : “Big announcement coming soon”, which makes it unclear as to what the announcement will be aimed at.

The omission of André Ayew from the Black Stars 26-man squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifying double header was a statement of intent from head coach Otto Addo, of which the Ayew’s had a meeting to deliberate on the issue, according to Abedi’s brother, Sola.

However, with the post made by Abedi, it remains unclear what the President and coach of Nania Fc is trying to put across.

Dede’s omission from the team was on the back of a fine club season, scoring 5 times in 17 league games for his club, Le Havré.

André Ayew has 120 caps under his belt for Ghana, scoring 24 times since debuting on August 21 against Senegal in an international friendly in 2007.

In the meantime, Ghanaians await what the message from the maestro will be, with Jordan Ayew an integral member of Otto Addo’s new-look Black Stars squad.
