Chelsea has recorded back-to-back wins for the first time this season with goals from Mykhailo Mudryk and Armando Borja in an exhilarating first first half display, which saw them beat Fulham with a 2-0 scoreboard figure at Craven cottage.

Mykhailo Mudryk opened the scoresheet by netting his first Premier League goal for Chelsea against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

First, the Blues scored when Mudryk scored his first-ever Chelsea goal. Levi Colwill had acres of space to go on the left side before cutting inside for the Ukrainian. Murdryk then took the pass down inside the box before sliding a left-footed finish under the arriving keeper, Leno.

One must remember that the Chelsea winger, who cost an initial 70 million euros ($75.78 million) in transfer fees in January has struggled since heading to West London and has drawn harsh criticism for his expensive transfer fee.

Finally, Armando Borja, who replaced the suspended Nicolas Jackson, was making his first start since sustaining a knee injury at the end of 2022. He slotted the ball past goalkeeper Bernd Leno before poor defending by the hosts gave the opportunity to the Albanian striker to double the lead a minute later.

Following his team’s 2-0 victory over Fulham on Monday, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino said he never lost faith in his young, bright players, stating that it was crucial they be given time to adjust to the Premier League, especially with regards to Murdyk’s situation.

“We need to understand that young people need time and need to settle. It’s about adaptation, it’s a big change when Mudryk arrived here, and when you arrive at a team, it’s not easy to settle in a team that isn’t solid. It’s about time, having patience, trusting these young talented players, building confidence. It’s a big job, step by step.”

Prior to this encounter, Coach Mauricio Pochettino had never won an away game for the London based club since joining them and had faced a lot of criticisms by supporters and pundits despite winning as few as two games in the premier league this season.

Fortunately, Chelsea has now recorded just their second win of the season through a convincing 2-0 win over Fulham in the London derby at the Craven Cottage.

Mudryk’s first top flight goal for the Blues came as a shock to all but was short lived, as Brojas strike came 83 seconds later.

The Blues will face off Burnley on Saturday and the coach is hoping to take encouragement from their heavy win against Fulham whiles also ending three straight losses run in the premier league.

The two times UEFA Champions League winners’ performance this season has been very poor with just two wins, two draws and 3 losses. This poor run of form currently places Chelsea at the 11th position in the Premier League Log.
