English born international and defender of Nottingham Forest, Harry Toffolo has just received a suspended five month ban from all football related activities by the Football Association of England after admitting 375 breaches of betting rules.
The defender will therefore be suspended from association football until the end of the 2024/2025 season.
The 28 year born defender has also been fined £20,956.22 by an independent regulatory commission.
It has been said that the player breached FA rules when he was a permanent player for Norwich City and played on loan for Swindon, Rotherham, Peterborough and Scunthorpe.
The FA rules prevents players from placing bets or passing on information that could be used for staking bets; the player however had breached the rule on 375 occasions from 22nd January 2014 to 18th March 2017.
In a new statement on Wednesday, the Football Association announced a five-month suspension for the whole 2024/25 season, along with a fine placement for the misconduct.
“Nottingham Forest’s Harry Toffolo has been given a five-month suspension, which has been suspended until the end of the 2024/25 season, and £20,956.22 fine for misconduct in relation to our betting rules.”
The defender admitted that he breached FA Rule E1(b) 375 times between 22 January 2014 and 18 March 2017.
After signing for Nottingham Forest from Huddersfield Town last summer, Toffolo featured in 21 matches in all competitions for the club and came off the bench to play 20 minutes in the Carabao Cup Second Round defeat against Burnley for the Forest.
The incident comes four months after Brentford and England striker, Ivan Toney was given an eight months ban for breaking betting rules.
