The Black Stars of Ghana have been pitted against, Niger, a resurgent Sudan and Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON) quarter-finalist Angola in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
The draw, which was held in Johannesburg, South Africa today, saw 48 nations put into 12 groups of 4, with all participation nations vying to be at the continental showpiece in 2025.
The Black Stars have failed to advance past the group stages in the last two editions of the finals after making it past the qualifying phase, with the team’s latest dismal performance coming in Ivory Coast.
Ghana, who will be on a 43-year trophy drought by the time the contintents showpiece kick stars in December, 2025, will hope negotiate through the qualifying stage unscathed.
The two top teams from each group automatically advance to the 2025 AFCON.

The qualifying games are expected to begin in September, while the main tournament is slated for December 19, 2025 – January 18, 2026.
