The Chief executive officer (CEO) of Bofoakwa Tano, Alexander Ababio, has stated that the team will undergo massive restructuring as part of their preparations after securing qualification to the 2023\2024 Betpawa premier league.

Mr. Ababio described the season as a challenging one despite securing promotion to Ghana’s top flight league for the first time in sixteen years.

Their qualification marked a significant feat for the club who suffered relegation after the 2006\2007 campaign  and struggled to make a return to the league for the past fifteen years.

In an interaction with the media after their qualification, Mr. Alexander Ababio expressed his excitement at guiding the team back to the division and also revealed their plans to overhaul the technical team and beef up the squad in a bid to be competitive for the new season.

“Right now we have to do some recruitment, we have to bring in about five to six players so we add them to our team. Our technical team too we have to beef it up, we have to get a new coach because our coach is a license B coach who cannot coach in the premier league. Apart from that the management too we have to come together with the board of directors to raise some funds to support the team, by paying our players salaries and other things so that we can move the team forward. When we put up these measures I think we can stay in the Ghana premier league,” the Chief Executive Officer of Bofoakwa Tano said.

Bofoakwa Tano played against Eleven wonders in a crunch playoff match to gain promotion to the Betpawa Premier league at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Lesle Aryeetey scored in the third minute through a spot kick to give Bofoakwa Tano the lead in the first half but few minutes into the second half, Osman Zakaria of Techiman eleven wonders netted the equalizer to restore parity for the Techiman based club.

The game ended in a stalemate after full time and went on penalty lick where Bofoakwa Tano came out triumphant with a 6-7 score on shootout.
