The fifth match-day of the University of Ghana Corporate League saw the College of Humanities take on Telecel in a tightly contested battle. Both sides played evenly throughout the first half, with neither team able to break the deadlock. However, just before halftime, Kwasi struck late to give the College of Humanities a crucial lead.
Telecel pushed for an equalizer in the second half, but their efforts fell short. The College of Humanities remained clinical, ensuring their advantage remained intact until the final whistle. The match ended 1-0 in favor of the College of Humanities, while Telecel’s search for their first win in the competition continues.
The second game of Day 5 saw Union Ghana take on the College of Basic and Applied Sciences in a thrilling encounter. Both teams tested each other throughout the first half, and by halftime, the score was level at 1-1.
Union Ghana started the second half strongly, finding the net early, but their celebration was cut short as the linesman raised his flag for offside. Shortly after, the College of Basic and Applied Sciences had a golden opportunity from a corner but failed to capitalize. A brilliant free-kick followed, but the goalkeeper made a crucial save to deny them.
Union Ghana eventually broke the deadlock with a well-taken goal, putting them 2-1 ahead. They later sealed the victory with a late goal, securing all three points with a 2-1 win
GNPC took on the College of Health Sciences (CHS) in a one-sided affair. CHS opened the scoring early with a brilliant team move and controlled possession for most of the first half. GNPC had a chance to respond with a free kick after a solo run by their striker, but it was wasted.
CHS doubled their lead early in the second half and kept pressing for more. GNPC had a lifeline when awarded a penalty, but CHS’s goalkeeper pulled off a crucial save. Late in the game, CHS sealed the win with a well-taken free kick, securing a 3-0 victory.
