Team PureLube, winners of 4th Cohort os svsp

The Team PureLube from the University of Development Studies (UDS) wins the 4th cohort of the Student Venture Support Program (SVSP).

PureLube is an agribusiness startup that produces eco-friendly lubricants (grease) as alternatives to petroleum-based ones, using raw materials derived from cashews to develop sustainable products that are affordable, effective, and environmentally friendly.

The goal of the startup is to cut costs for users while reducing environmental impact.

The group has 4 cofounders with
Fareeda Mustapha as CEO, Abdul Karim Rafiu as CFO, Abubakar Naziru as COO and Zakaria Nhajilau as QAO.

The Student Venture Support Program is a collaborative initiative between the Innovation unit of the Research and Innovation Directorate (RID) of the University of Ghana in partnership with Imperial College of London.

The program is a platform for nurturing student entrepreneurship that has supported over 400 student entrepreneurs across Ghana, fostering innovation and creating impactful businesses since its launch in 2022.

This year’s demo day, which took place yesterday at the West African Genetic Medicine Center (WAGMC), University of Ghana brought together 12 top student-led startups from four partner universitiesUniversity  of Ghana (UG), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), University of Cape Coast (UCC), and University of Development studies (UDS)—to pitch their groundbreaking ideas for a chance to win a total prize pool of GHS100,000.00.

Entrepreneurship is a vital part of a country’s development, and Imperial Global Ghana, in collaboration with the University of Ghana, is birthing business ideas that will shape the world.
