Prof. Richard Osei-Amponsah is an Associate Professor of Animal Science at the University of Ghana School of Agriculture. His research focus is on the utilization of quantitative and molecular genetics as tools for the sustainable management of Animal Genetic Resources (AnGR). He has expertise in the development of sustainable animal breeding programs for low input-livestock systems as well as National and Regional Strategic Action Plans for AnGR.

He has contributed to capacity-building efforts through student training and served as a resource person at various agricultural stakeholder training workshops. He has over forty (40) peer-reviewed publications on animal resources management to his credit and has actively participated in international and local conferences.

Prof. Richard Osei-Amponsah is also a member of the AU-IBAR’s African Technology and Innovations Incubators Advisory Committee (ATIIAC) for Africa and an Executive Committee Member of the All-African Society of Animal Production (AASAP). Prof. Richard Osei-Amponsah is an ordained Minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, a Tutor and Member of the Council of Commonwealth Hall, University of Ghana, and the President of the Ghana Society of Animal Production (GSAP).
