The Vetting committee set up by the New Patriotic Party to vet the the party’s presidential aspirants and do due diligence on the credentials of the 10 candidates who successfully filed their nominations to compete in the upcoming flagbearership contest has submitted its report to the party’s leadership.
The committee made up of astute and distinguished members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and chaired by Former Speaker of Parliament , Right Honourable Aaron Mike Ocquaye handed over its report to the General Secretary , Justin Kodua Frimpong today , July 10,2023.
Speaking in a media interaction, the General Secretary , Justin Kodua Frimpong indicated that the report of the committee has been duly handed over to the leadership of the party for its perusal.
He commended the members for a good job done and for availing themselves to serve the interests of the party.
” I have received the report of the Vetting committee which screened and vetted the 10 leading members of the party who have availed themselves to be considered as candidates for the position of Flagbearership slot of our great party.
Congratulations to the members of the committee for wholeheartedly accepting the role of helping the party to further its interests as part of our electoral calendar which helps us to prepare for next year’s general Elections”.
Justin Kodua also served the party’s intent to create a conducive atmosphere and a level playing field in the internal elections for all candidates who have been duly passed to contest.
” The party has held long standing credentials for being a democratic institution and a key advocate for same in Ghana and we as national Executives will strive to ensure free, fair and transparent elections and ensure that the outcome will be acceptable to all parties”.
Ten aspirants are seeking to become the party’s flagbearer in the 2024 General Elections and duly submitted themselves to be vetted by the committee.
The vetting process started on July 3 and ended on July 6,2023.
