The vice chairman of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) elections commitee, Abankwah Yeboah has described the recent electoral process for the NPP’s super delegates conference as fair and transparent.
This follows allegations raised against the NPP indicating that the super delegates conference elections was skewed to favour some persons in the electoral process.
Speaking during a media engagement, Abankwa Yeboah asserted that all processes put in place for the elections were made to be practical, hence ensuring an effectively unbiased process.
“To the best of my knowledge l do not think the process was [unfair]. Even the aspirants came to congratulate us on the work we did…the process and guidelines that were put in place was as fair as practical. The incidents that took place have been addressed and a report has been given so that has taken care of. But on a whole I believe that it was a very good election,” he added.
He further stated that the party will ensure elections are well conducted on the 4th of November to set an example for other political parties in the country.
“We believe that on the 4th of November the party will prove everybody wrong and that the members of this nation and the party will make sure that the election will be an exemplary one for all other political parties to emulate.”
The New Patriotic Party has slated it’s upcoming delegates conference elections for the 4th of November 2023.
The elections will determine which of the four candidates to have qualified for the delegates conference would stand as Flagbearer for the NPP during the 2024 Presidential elections in Ghana.
