Chief Executive Officer of Data Bank, Kojo Addae Mensah, has issued a strong caution to Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey over his anticipated move to Spanish side Villarreal, amid intensifying fan protests.

Speaking on Sports Night on Radio Univers, Addae Mensah warned that Partey could face severe hostility in Spain, including boos and racial abuse, should the controversial transfer materialize.

His comments follow widespread outrage among Villarreal supporters, with hundreds signing a petition opposing the deal and labelling Partey’s proposed arrival as the “darkest day in the club’s history.”

The former Arsenal star is currently facing five counts of rape involving two women and one charge of sexual assault against a third—accusations he strongly denies.

“I’m surprised hearing that some factions of the supporters are protesting. The racism is there, and in Spain, especially in the West, racism in Spain is terrible.

“So I’m not surprised that a section of the fans are saying, we don’t want Partey , we don’t want a rapist. If I were him, I may not take the deal.

“If I were him, I would just focus on this case, finish it, clear my name, and if I still have some energy in my legs, then I’ll continue to play. I don’t think he should go into Villarreal.

“Once this case is hanging around his neck, he should clear his name before he goes into play again. And it’s not going to be anytime soon,” he said.
