Reigning TGMA Artiste of the Year, King Promise, has announced his decision to sponsor a Master’s degree in Public Relations for media personality and entertainment podcaster, Tilly Akua Nipaa.
The award-winning artist announced this during an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM on Tuesday, 13th May 2025.
“I like Tilly and I believe the PR work she did, she really did a great job. So I was in a conversation with my management and I learnt she is about to do her masters and I want to pay for it.”
Tilly Akua Nipaa was appointed as King Promise’s PR during the 2025 TGMA season. Her appointment stemmed from her vocal support and professional appraisal of the artiste’s consistency and growth, support that eventually translated into a formal working relationship.
When asked what he admired most about her, King Promise praised her professionalism and authenticity.
“She says facts bro! And she said one hing that I loved. She said she is working with an artist who has already put in the work, what she says is not speculations but facts so all she does is speak and amplify it and it makes her work easy. And she represented it so well. She didn’t step on people’s toes, she was respectful, she was professional, and I respect that. And in my own little way that I can help is this…”

The announcement has sparked a wave of excitement among fans and supporters of Tilly, especially after she endured online trolling the day prior, on 12th May 2025. The trolling followed King Promise’s acceptance speech at the TGMA, where he omitted her name while thanking his contributors, a moment that stirred controversy on X.
However, in an attempt to set the record straight, King Promise later shared a screenshot of a handwritten note from his phone, in which Tilly was mentioned among the names of individuals he wished to appreciate.
With this new gesture, King Promise has not only silenced critics but also demonstrated a rare appreciation for behind-the-scenes contributors in the music industry.
Fans and industry stakeholders alike have commended the artiste for using his platform to uplift others, especially professionals like Tilly Akua Nipaa, who play critical roles in shaping public narratives around Ghanaian artists.
