Dorcas Affo-Toffey, a Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency in the Western Region, and his entourage were engaged in a near-fatal collision at Komenda Junction on the Takoradi-Cape Coast-Acccra Highway early Thursday morning, August 29, 2024.

The MP and her colleagues were returning from the Constituency following her campaign launch at Half Assini over the weekend.

According to eyewitnesses, at around 5:05 a.m., while returning to Accra from a successful campaign launch in her constituency, Madam Affo-Toffey’s Ford Raptor vehicle was nearly crushed by an overtook big truck.

Details available indicate that the accident occurred when two heavy trucks attempted to overtake each other but one of the truck drivers, who appeared to be dozing off, lost steering control.

In a desperate attempt to prevent a fatal collision, Madam Affo-Toffey’s driver sped off the road into the surrounding shrubbery.

Dorcas Affo-Toffey, the MP, and the other three occupants of the Ford Raptor were rushed to the hospital, where they are presently being treated.

The vehicle sustained damage, but all of the occupants are in stable condition.
