The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have issued a statement announcing a three-week disruption in power supply due to a decrease in gas supply from Nigeria.
According to the statements made by GRIDCo and ECG, the West Africa Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo) has explained that the reduction in gas supply is a result of maintenance work being carried out by a gas supplier in Nigeria.
“…the reduction in gas supply is due to maintenance works being undertaken by a gas supplier in Nigeria and is projected to last three weeks”
Due to maintenance, the work is expected to last three weeks, which may result in power outages or rationing during this period.
In their statement, the companies extended apologies to consumers for the inconvenience caused by these power interruptions. They advised consumers to stay updated through official channels for information on scheduled power outages, and to plan accordingly during this period of reduced electricity supply.
