Asante Kotoko secured a thrilling 1-0 win over Nsoatreman FC at the Len Clay Sports Stadium, moving them to second place in the Ghana Premier League.

The decisive moment came in the 47th minute when Issahaka Mohammed’s attempted clearance redirected Dauda Saaka’s cross into his own net.

This match was rescheduled from Matchday two due to Nsoatreman’s CAF Confederation Cup participation, where they were eliminated by CS Constantine.

Asante Kotoko celebrated their first home win and will aim to maintain their unbeaten record against Accra Lions on Saturday.

In a separate match, Ghana Premier League champions Samartex drew 1-1 with Bibiani GoldStars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena.

Samartex took the lead in the 28th minute with Emmanuel Mamah’s penalty kick, but Bibiani GoldStars equalized in the 75th minute with Kelvin Oppong’s goal, ensuring a draw and their first unbeaten match this season.
