Presidential aspirant Evander Akrasi and vice presidential aspirant Michael Yeng have officially filed their nominations for the 2025 University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UGSRC) elections.
The nomination filing took place on July 23, 2025, at the UGSRC Electoral Commission office, where the pair submitted their required documents and endorsements. According to the Commission, all presidential and vice presidential aspirants must secure a significant number of student endorsements and meet specific eligibility requirements to qualify.
Running on a platform of transparency, service, leadership, development, and student engagement, the duo has pledged to prioritize student welfare, improve communication between the SRC and the student body, and lead efforts toward meaningful change on campus.
The UGSRC Electoral Commission has reiterated its commitment to conducting a free, fair, and transparent election.
As the campaign season unfolds, students are expected to witness a competitive race, with several aspirants preparing to present their visions for student leadership. The outcome of the election will determine the next set of leaders tasked with shaping student life at the University of Ghana.
