Black Stars Coach Hughton promises better performance against USA following Mexico defeat

Ghana Black Stars Head Coach Chris Hughton has predicted that his team will bounce back in subsequent games after suffering a a 2-0 loss to Mexico at the Bank of America Stadium on Saturday.

Hughton who suffered his first defeat as a Black Stars manager on Saturday has been preparing his charges for their second and final preparatory encounter against the United States Mens National Team (USMNT) at the Geodis park on Wednesday, 17th October.

The black stars display against the Mexicans was one of the most under par performance from the team in contemporary times, due to their failure to produce an attempt on goal. However, the English gaffer is optimistic his side will respond to the defeat appropriately.

“It’s exactly the same message for the players. What we don’t want is, we don’t want to leave this international camp with two poor result… [we] are looking for a reaction from the team in the second game [against USA] and if we’re able to get the right reaction; which I’m quite sure that we will from the team.”

“Then it gives you a better possibility of putting in a performance that can getting something out from second game[against USA].”

The Black stars will be hoping to rectify their mistakes and hit the ground running against favourable opponents In the USA, of whom Ghana has edged in their previous encounters,with the black stars winning 3 out of 5 games between the sides. However,Ghana will be weary of threats posed by the United States who have a point to prove themselves after suffering a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Germany on Saturday.

Ghana are braced for an exciting test to examine the teams resolve ahead of crucial ties against Mozambique, Cape Verde and seven time champions Egypt in group B of the 34th edition of the total Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
