Asante Professionals Club (APC), a social grouping of indigenes of the Ashanti region both at home and abroad, has marked its 10th anniversary at a colourful ceremony in Accra.

The launch of the 10th anniversary of the club coincided with a media launch to throw more light on the significant milestones the club has achieved in its 10 years of existence.

The theme of the 10th anniversary celebrations was: “Honouring Our Roots; Shaping Our Future.”

Speaking at the event, the Group President, Isaac Augustus Antwi intimated that the main aim of the club is to pool together the resources of professionals of Asante extraction in and out of the country to develop the region and create lasting social impacts in the lives of the citizens and younger generation for a sustainable future.

The vision of the group, Asante Professionals club is to create a unifying platform for all indigenes of our dear region ( Ashanti) and all areas that fall under the paramountcy of our Great King, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to be able to put together resources (both cash and human) to help create lasting projects that transforms the lives of our people and add up our widows mite in complementing government efforts in the region.

Also, Isaac Antwi added that for the 10 years of the club being in existence, there are plans to build upon the legacies of the past by leveraging on the members to contribute a good chunk of their resources to build a 40-seater ICT lab at a yet to be identified location in the region as the legacy project for the celebrations.

Over the years, the club has embarked on capital intensive projects in our home region like contributing to the Otumfuo Educational Scholarship Scheme, supporting businesses of young Entrepreneurs, career guidance for over 20,000 students, renovated the Ashanti Library and Manhyia Hospital, donations to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital among other equally important social interventions in the region.

We call on all indigenes of the Asante land both home and abroad as well as Ghanaians in general to contribute their resources to the club to help us get more funds for us to be able to invest in the next generation of our people to take leadership roles and bring more glory to the Asante Kingdom and Ghana at large”.

Furthermore, the former Deputy Attorney General in the erstwhile  Nana Akuffo Addo government, Diana Asonaba Dapaah also issued a rallying cry to members to get more hands on in such a social grouping, where the ideals and culture of the Great Asante Kingdom were being espoused to working class indigenes as a way of connecting them to their roots and tapping into the vast human resource potentials of the members to seek the continuous development of the region.

It is a very good initiative of forward thinking young men of Asante extraction to have envisaged the formation of such a powerful social group ten years ago which has borne good fruits over the ensuing years, which has led to substantial developments on our region and I commend members for staying true to the course and contributing their cash and social currency to impact society in a positive way. Let us move on together with a unity of purpose to expand the frontiers of the APC and get more youth and professionals connected to their culture so we can keep our identity intact for onward transmission to the succeeding generations and generations unborn.

The event brought together esteemed professionals from several fields, ranging from business, media, law, politics and many others, with the immediate past running mate of the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 General Elections and Former Minister of Energy, Matthew Opoku Prempeh, being among the enviable personalities to grace the event.

The Club unites professionals of Asante descent to support development in Asanteman and Ghana. It was formed based on a proposal by MP for Bantama and immediate Past Minister of Roads and Highways, Francis Asenso Boakye, with support from leaders like Vincent Frimpong Manu Esq. ( First President of the Club).
