‘ I have moved on’- Hon. Muntaka Mubarak on Minority Caucus leadership reshuffle

Member of Parliament for Asawase and former Minority Chief Whip, Honourable Muntaka Mubarak has indicated that he has grown accustomed to his new tag as an ordinary member of Parliament months after the NDC rang changes to its frontline leadership months ago.

Honourable Muntaka Mubarak had served as Minority Chief Whip in Parliament for more than 10 years until he was replaced by MP for Adaklu , Honourable Governs Kwame Agbodza early this year.

Speaking in a media interaction, Honourable Muntaka revealed that he has come to accept his current role in the House and has used the opportunity to try and explore new things that he could not ordinarily take part in due to his leadership position .

” In life, everything has its strengths and weaknesses, and in recent times ,i have taken advantage of my new schedules to bond well with family and friends and take good rest periods to make up for the workload i have had over the years.

I have taken time off to travel and experiences different situations and cultures to broaden my horizon as a lawmaker and politician which will stand me in good stead in fully representing my constituents in the August house (Parliament)”.

Also, Honourable Muntaka Mubarak indicated that he has picked up one of his passions ( teaching) and is passing on knowledge to the next generation of young Ghanaians by lecturing at the University for Professional Studies, Accra.

” I currently have taken up an appointment as a lecturer at UPSA , where i teach courses in leadership and corporate governance and the experience helps me to develop the academic abilities of the youth in preparation for the roles they will play in Ghana’s development in the coming years”.

He adds that due to his hardwork and long standing leadership position in Parliament, people still accord him all the privileges and respect which comes with the Office he held for over 10 years alongside senior colleagues like the Majority Leader, Honourable Osei -Kyei Mensa Bonsu and the current Speaker , Right Honourable Kingsford Alban Sumana Bagbin.

” After long years of service in Parliament , people still respect me alongside my senior colleagues ( Majority Leader and Speaker) , so on most occasions, from the car park to my office upstairs ,people keep saluting and greeting because they appreciate the work you do for Ghana and your generation”.
