The University of Ghana’s Students Financial Aid Office (SFAO) has announced that it is now accepting applications for two scholarships for the 2023/2024 academic year.

The scholarships are the UG Scholarship and the SRC Yi Bi Boa Scholarship, both of which are open to needy and brilliant undergraduate students.

The deadline for the submission of applications for the UG Scholarship is Wednesday, June 7th, 2023, while applicants for the SRC Yi Bi Boa Scholarship have until Wednesday, June 14th, 2023, at 3:00 pm to submit their applications.

Both the UG Scholarship and the SRC Yi Bi Boa Scholarship are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and academic excellence.

The scholarships cover tuition fees for main campus undergraduate students.

To be eligible for either scholarship, applicants must be Ghanaian citizens and must have gained admission to the University of Ghana as full-time regular undergraduate students.

They must also demonstrate financial need, academic excellence and limited family income and/or insufficient funds to cover most or all educational related expenses.

They must also have the will to succeed (determination, perseverance and success in other pursuits) and must have obtained an aggregate of 20 or better at the WASSCE and a continuing student with CGPA of 2.5 or better.

Applicants are required to submit their application forms and supporting documents to the Students Financial Aid Office by the respective deadlines.

The application forms can be downloaded from the university’s website via the links below, and further information about the scholarships can also be found on the website.

The SFAO encourages all eligible students to apply for these scholarships and take advantage of the opportunity to further their education without financial constraints.
